ubu's Christmas Sparkle Event 2018 Day 3
Day 3 of our Christmas Sparkle Events and what a brilliant day it was indeed! Today's Sparkle Event was hosted by the Leeds team but not as we usually know them, we were greeted by Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future accompanied by Leeds' very own musical Elf. With games like whispers and pass the hat it was a fun filled day for all, not to mention the tantalising snacks provided by the lovely Leeds helpers.
The Leeds Christmas Sparkle was for the family of Imogen Holroyd who passed away at the early of age of 11 last year. Imogen developed Juvenile Dermatomyositis after starting High School in September 2017, a disease that only affects 3 in a million children each year in the UK and causes significant problems with the body's auto immune system. Imogen went into cardiac arrest on Christmas day last year, Paul, her step dad, who works for ubu as an Assistant Service Manager gave her CPR to keep her alive but she sadly passed away only 2 days later on the 27th December 2017. Imogen was a sweet and bubbly girl who adored the magical creatures we know as Unicorns, she was also a sister to four other siblings who have missed her terribly over the course of 2018.
Knowing how difficult this time of year is for the family, the Leeds team wanted to bring some sparkle back into their lives over the Christmas period and have organised a family sledging day at Xscape for them to have fun filled day to celebrate Imogens life!
