Now I know that I am not the only person who loves to have a clean and fresh smelling home.
In fact, one of the things that I find most enjoyable is a really good clear out, a declutter and then the opportunity to clean and leave everything smelling of fresh flowers.
So, I got to thinking, one person’s clutter is another person’s treasure and thinking about the environment, rather than just throw what I don’t want away, why not let someone else make good use of it.
As I said I am a keen cleaner, and every 3 months I like to do a good deep clean and a declutter, so I organise myself and I have a pile for what needs to be put away, what needs to be thrown away and a separate donation pile, things that are too good to just throw away but I don’t need or want any longer and maybe someone else will find useful, clothes, small household items, small bits of jewellery or other nick-knacks. Then, when I am off out, I drop off my donate pile at my local charity shop.
One of my favourite parts of this is that I go and have a chat with the people who work there when I take in my donations. We talk about the charity, and I get excited when they tell me if they have sold anything that I donated.
