My name is Alysha and I moved into my new home on the 4th of July only a few months ago but I feel like I have lived here forever.
I have made some really good friends during this time who have helped me settle in, and made me and my cat princess feel welcome. I was very nervous about moving but I love my flat and have made it my own, surrounding myself with all of my craft essentials and my Lego which helps in situations where there is an unpredictable change in my life or when I become anxious.
I have recently joined the borrow my doggy app and I now look after Louis a couple of times a week. He helps me so much, makes me feel happy, and takes my mind off things that may in the past have troubled me. He is a great distraction and good company.
I have also developed a good relationship with his owners Chris and Paul and we chat. I wouldn’t know what to do without Louis now that I have that bond with him he honestly does light up my day.
The staff has also really helped me in situations where times have been really tough. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at UBU and the friends that I have made at St Anne’s because if it wasn’t for you guys then I wouldn’t have settled in as well as I have and gone as far as I have.
I also want to say a massive thank you to my two best friends Naomi and Lisa and my social worker Deborah for helping me so much with my journey and still continuing to do so because if it wasn’t for them then I wouldn’t have even moved at all.
