It was love at first sight
Well nearly first sight, okay so sort of first sight second time around.
We first set eyes on each other working on a farm, where we were volunteering, we got along with each other and enjoyed each other’s company, and so began to spend lots of time together. But our lives took us in different directions. I moved into my own apartment in Nottingham, and he had a few, not so great relationships.
It turns out that he couldn’t stop thinking about me, so he asked around through mutual friends, and we found each other again.
The proposal
I began to fall in love, he was so patient and understanding, he said that he was falling in love with me, and we got on so well. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, without hesitation I said YESSSSSSS.
At first our families had some concerns, they we worried as families can be, that it might not work out and we would end up broken hearted. They were of course just looking out for us. Some say it is better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all, but we were determined that it was going to work, and we were sure we wanted to be together.
I have made amazing progress, with help from my enabling team, I have learned to cook, manage my health conditions, manage my money, and really look after myself.
Well 6 years down the line… we are still very much in love and happy together and made the decision that its time for a new chapter in our lives together.
We decided last year that we are ready to move in together, and in January 2024 we moved into our own house together, we still have some support, which we felt we both needed for now. We are excited, and we will keep you updated about our progress.
