I'm John, a Poulton local who thrives on soaking in the fresh air, rain or shine. There's something magical about being around people, and watching the world go by – it's the best thing ever!
So, me and my awesome staff team sat down to chat about my goals for the year. One idea I had was that I wanted to give back to the community and make a difference.
I wasn't sure where to start but then after some careful deliberation, a list of volunteering roles landed on our laps.
And there it was, Northwest Air Ambulance. These heroes fly medical crews and equipment to people in need, saving lives in situations like car accidents or to people taking unexpected tumbles.
Quick and efficient – that's their motto!
My staff team asked if I wanted to be a part of it, being outdoors, chatting with people, putting on my biggest smile (not that it's difficult!). The answer was a resounding yes!
I contacted the charity, and they came for a chat. The pictures show us meeting the gentleman from the charity. Now, I'm all set up and raring to go, stay tuned for Part 2 of my volunteering escapade.
