Dear Key Worker Letter

Dear Key Worker,

You and your colleagues have risen to the enormous challenge of the coronavirus pandemic. Selflessly and generously, you have helped us through this unprecedented emergency.

We want to echo the appreciation of the city and say thank you.

By working longer and harder than ever before, you have helped ensure that life in the city can carry on.

You have given our most vulnerable citizens the essential support they need during this difficult time and we thank you for the work you have done, are doing and will continue to do for our city.

To show our gratitude, we want to give something back, and from Saturday 1 August

– Yorkshire Day – we're holding a week-long celebration of the city's key workers, championing you and the vital work that you've done and continue to do.

Organised by Make It York, the Key Workers’ Celebration is open to all key workers who live and work in York. You’ll just need to show your work ID (ie NHS lanyard) or a key worker letter from your employer.

As part of this celebration, businesses across the city are coming together to offer special key worker discounts: please check out and choose what you’d like to enjoy from the selection at www.visityork.org/keyworkers from 1 August.

We hope you enjoy the celebration and the treats which we and the city are delighted to offer.

With our grateful thanks and very best wishes

Cllr Keith Aspden Greg Dyke

Leader of City of York Council Chair of Make It York
