Welcome to ubu
ubu means “you be you”. The name was created by the people we support, and it still says what matters most to us.
We stand with each person as they make their own choices and shape their own days. We do not start with a label, a system or a fixed way of doing things. We start with the person: who they are, what matters to them, and what they want more of.
Good support is often quiet and practical. It might be helping someone speak up, try a new routine, welcome a visitor, or feel settled at the end of the day. What matters is that the person feels safe, respected and able to take part in their own way.
About Us
Our promise is simple: people should be able to live in a way that feels right to them. We are there for the ordinary parts of life, from choosing what to wear and making tea in their own kitchen to getting to an appointment, laughing with someone they trust, or trying something new.
Join Us
At ubu, support means noticing what matters to someone and helping in a way that makes sense to them. We help people use their strengths, try things safely and feel settled, included and listened to.
If you believe in people, there is a place for you here. Bring your patience, humour, kindness and courage. Work with us, join us or partner with us, and help people have more say in the life they live.
