Alcohol Awareness Week
1st July – 7th July 2024
Get thinking about drinking, Alcohol Awareness Week is all about campaigning for change and understanding alcohol harm.
Alcohol can sometimes play a center-stage role in our lives,
It’s there when we celebrate, commiserate and when we are just trying to cope. Alcohol is harming to our health it can affect our sleep, our moods and our relationships. Thousands of people suffer from long term health conditions because of the alcohol they drink.
This Alcohol Awareness Week is exploring the meaning of ‘Alcohol Harm’ and challenging the stereotype that alcohol is an ‘Individuals problem’. Let’s talk about the role alcohol plays in our society and what it means to families, communities, health workers and our emergency services.
We want to create an environment in which we are all better informed and protected from the harms caused by alcohol. By creating a culture that places people, not alcohol at the center of things, we can protect, transform and make improvements as a community.
