World Mental Health Day
10th October
The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is “It is time to priorities mental health in the workplace” The objective of this day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to energies efforts in support of mental health.
World Mental Health Day started in 1992 and was established to raise awareness and promote mental health advocacy.
The day is an opportunity for people working on mental health issues to talk about their efforts and what still needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. This day serves as a great reminder that mental health is an essential part of overall health, and it encourages everyone to talk, listen or support the efforts towards mental health awareness.
There are many ways you can get involved in mental health awareness you can attend workshops, share resources, have open conversations, practice self-care or if you feel you need a bit of help you can join a support group.
Look at your workplace and see what is in place to support mental health in line with this year’s theme.
