Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 2024

Sadly, almost everyone knows someone who has been touched by breast cancer. If everyone plays their part to help raise awareness and money, we can hopefully help to prevent future generations from hearing the words ‘you have breast cancer’

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among women. In 2020 576,337 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 157,111 lost their lives to the disease. At the end of 2020 there were 2.3 million women alive who have heard those words ‘you have breast cancer’ in the last 5 years.

Discovering breast cancer early can make a huge difference in the outcome of that new challenge you could face. Checking your breasts regularly for any unusual changes is a vital part of detection.

Use this month to promote open and inquisitive conversation around breast cancer, its effects, life after diagnosis or even on how to check your breasts
