Organ Donation Awareness week aims to highlight the importance of Organ Donation.

Did you know that it takes just two minutes to register as an organ donor, which could save up to nine lives in the future?

This year Organ Donation Awareness week is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the NHS Organ Donor Register! Local landmarks and buildings across the country will be turning pink to help raise awareness of the incredible gift someone can give another person.

This week is all about talking to family and friends about Organ Donation, how you can register, what it means and why it is so important. By the end of last year’s awareness week over 16,000 people registered as organ donors, 150 buildings lit up pink across the UK and organ donation was talked about in over 1,000 articles in the news.

In 2024 the aim is to do more and increase all those numbers.
