My name is Sarah and I am Slimming World’s Woman of the Year 2023!

I would like to share my weight loss journey with you all.


Many people will know what I mean when I say that I was I was not happy with my weight. I was not happy with how I looked. I was also aware that my weight was having an impact on my health and I had the feeling that this was only going to get more harder as I got older. Like many people, I have wanted to do something about it for a while, but getting up the courage to begin is so difficult. With the right support, however, I have shown that anything is possible.


Seize The Day

I did it! I decided that it was time to make a change. I knew that I would need a programme to follow and so with support from my enabling team I joined Slimming World! I have to be honest. This was really, really hard at first. I had to change my daily routine and change a lot of my habits around food. It meant re-thinking all of my meals and reconsidering the foods that I loved to eat.


Not Alone

My ubu enabler helped me with the organisational side – and were very motivational in their support of my weight loss journey. My enabler supported me to plan my weekly meals and we worked out how to make healthier shopping lists – after all, if you don’t buy it, you can’t eat it I also an began an exercise regime. I joined the gym and I even went to Zumba! My Enablers would encourage me on a daily basis. Their support and encouragement really helped to keep me going, even on the tough days – and believe me, there were some hard times along the way!


Going Down

I stuck to my meal plans and even experimented with low calorie versions of my favourite food. I learned to cook these meals myself and I can honestly say they tasted amazing!

At the end of my first month, I had lost 10.5lb at the weigh-in. I was very proud of myself. I could see that all the effort was paying off and it inspired me to keep going.

The following month, I had lost so much weight, that I got my Stone award. I’d lost 14lb in just 8 weeks!


I have kept going. I have followed my healthy eating plan and my exercises. The results are clear to see but I am thrilled to share with you that I have a total of over 3st!

I feel fabulous and I am so proud of my achievement!
