Looking back after working for ubu for nearly 5 years I realise just how far I have come on the journey to being a person who can enable other people to find what they are looking for in their lives. I have always liked the fact that each of the people we serve is treated with respect as an individual. One of the most valuable aspects of this is the person-led process of making a bespoke support plan uniquely developed with each person we work with.

ubu encourages continual learning for all its team members and provides training which can lead to qualifications that support the enabling work we do. I feel that an important quality of an Enabler is to adapt to and learn new skills to meet the needs of the person we are working with.  I think that it is vital to make sure that we understand what a person is trying to achieve and then to provide support that they need to develop and grow.
