A letter to Dorothy Jarvis-Lee

Dear Dorothy,

I feel compelled to write to say two things;

Firstly I want to say how proud I am to work for ubu and thank you. Thank you for pushing us to do our best and to be the best at what we do.

I am so proud of the way we support the people we serve.

At times, I admit I find it hard to keep up with the demands put on us and sometimes find myself lagging behind. But after watching the recent BBC Panorama investigation on television I now fully understand the reasons why we must strive to continually make things better for the people we serve.

This leads me on to the second thing I want to say: to help all our team members understand the importance of why we do what we do, to reinforce how not to do things and why we must always do better I really believe it would benefit everyone within ubu if they could be shown the Panorama television programme.

I have no way of knowing if we are the best but I do believe that we are up there with the best. I want Enablers and all staff members to understand why we must keep striving and working to improve the service we offer and the way we work and really feel by showing this programme, followed by discussion it would help.

I have no idea if we could ‘stream’ the programme (I am no expert in IT) but feel we could also show this in a team meeting.

Sadly, it is things like this that make us passionate about our job.

Thank you,

Gillian
