ubu Round Up on Le Grand Depart

4th July 2014

It’s been an unbelievably busy, but fun packed week as we celebrated ‘Le Grand Depart’. Here’s what the people we serve have got up to!

Last Friday, June 27 there was a cycle ride at the John Charles Sports Centre, giving the opportunity for some enthusiastic individuals we serve to take to pedal power and celebrate all that is good about Le Tour de France/Yorkshire. It was a superb event and the wonderful people involved cycled an incredible 190 km. Because we encourage the people we serve to remain active and healthy, it was a brilliant way for them to keep up with their exercise and have fun!

Monday this week saw us continue the celebrations with a brilliant continental breakfast and a French themed fancy dress, superbe!

It was the big yellow BBQ time on Tuesday with lunch served on yellow plates, as many yellow foods and drinks as possible and everyone wearing yellow as part of our continuing Le Grand Depart celebrations!

Finally our celebrations ended in a wonderful celebration on Wednesday, rewarding the people we serve for their great work on the bikes last Friday with certificates for everyone who took part in the cycle ride as well as throwing a fantastic party, before we all head off to watch Le Grand Depart in full flow this weekend … we’ve all had such fun, a big thank you to everyone!
