ubu Grows Wild

15th January 2015

In the UK, we’re lucky to have some amazing wild flowers, but they're in danger: we have lost 97% of wild flower meadows since the 1930s. This not only means less colour in our lives but it's impacting on populations of butterflies, bees, pollinating bugs and birds. The simple act of sowing seeds of UK native wildflowers can make a difference – it can transform local spaces into beautiful, inspiring and colourful wild flower havens, bring neighbourhoods together, connect us to nature and boost our wellbeing.

ubu is committed to helping reverse the trend by taking part in Grow Wild, one of the UK’s biggest-ever seed-sowing campaigns. It’s an exciting, four-year programme which provides free seeds, information, and ideas on how to sow native wild flowers. Together, we can help to create over one million square metres of wild flowers across the country in spring 2015!

  • Order the seed kits from the link below
  • Use a variety of gardens/pots/planters and plant…they may also need water when the sun comes out!
  • Take some pictures and share how you’ve have been involved in this via our Twitter @ubusupport

Ready, Steady, Sow!

Let’s turn our thumbs-up green!

Registration closes at midnight on 14 February 2015 and the kits will be sent out in late March, just in time for spring sowing.
