Theraputic work gives help for heroes

1st April 2014

I have always been a patriotic person. I am so proud of this country and all that it stands for. Therefore I wanted to find a way to give something back and help anyway that I could.

With support from my ubu team I was able to become a volunteer for the Help for Heroes charity, which raises money and supports our serving soldiers.

This role enables me to get out and about as I have to speak with local shops and businesses to ask if they will advertise the charity’s events; this also means I’m meeting lots of new people.

The charity recognised my happy personality and has also given me the role of raising awareness about the Help for Heroes in my local community; passing out leaflets and spreading the word in my own particular style!

This is a role I thoroughly enjoy and makes me even more proud to be a part of my community and a British citizen.
