Tell Me Why?

30th October 2015

We recently heard an extraordinary powerful song “Tell Me Why?” written and performed by Declan Galbraith when he was just 11 years old. The song asks for an answer to our lack of compassion and respect for each other and to the selfish ways we treat each other and our planet. We think the innocence of his question is just as relevant today as it was over a decade ago.

In 2002, Declan took part in a Guinness World Record event organised by 'Young Voices in Concert' at which he sang this song, helping to raise funds for Sargent Cancer Care for Children. Declan sang live with 10,000 children and was also simultaneously linked, by radio and satellite, with more than 80,000 children in their schools all over the UK, who accompanied him in achieving the world’s largest choral performance.

At ubu we believe that everybody has a right to be treated with respect, fairness and kindness. We think that everyone should have an equal chance in life to pursue their ambitions and dreams, regardless of their background, ability or beliefs.
