St.Michael's Hospice

6th December 2013

Saint Michael's is in place to help people with terminal illness. They do this by offering specialist care, comfort and support, free of charge to patients and their families. They are an independent charity working in the Harrogate District.

We had the pleasure of meeting a lovely lady called Jessica who works with passion and zest for the organisation. She works on the fundraising team and advised us that they need to raise 4.2 million pounds to keep the hospice open every year!

Netty and I went along with Roy and Julianne from Harrogate to make the donation and we were all amazed at the incredible work and the beautiful surroundings of the Hospice itself; we particularly noted how wonderful the grounds were to be able to take a stroll or just relax in.

Jessica was so grateful for the donation from ubu and could not thank us enough for thinking of them at this time of year. Julianne said “it was a lovely experience” and Roy was “so happy to have been able to make the donation”.

This was an amazing experience and we are just so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet such wonderful people and share in this occasion.
Our community is indebted to St Michael’s for providing such an enormous amount of care to people in our area when they need it most.
