St Barnabas

18th December 2012

Michael and Graham Parkinson presented the kind ubu donation to Veronica Brien, the Fundraising Manager for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.

St Barnabas Hospice is Lincolnshire’s leading specialist palliative care provider, caring for more than 5000 adults per year who have life limiting illnesses with complex symptoms and pain.

Free care is provided in three main ways: at the eleven bed specialist in-patient unit; as day therapy packages which include fatigue management, exercise classes, physiotherapy and complementary therapies; or in the growing area of providing a ‘Hospice at Home’ for people who wish to be cared for at home at the end of their life.

St Barnabas has been providing this free end of life care and support to families across Lincolnshire for more than 30 years.

Veronica said it requires £3.1m per year to run the hospice services, half of this much needed money comes from the St Barnabas shops and the lottery they run, and the other half is from traditional fundraising. Veronica was very pleased that ubu East Midlands had chosen St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice as their charity of choice.
