Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance

16th December 2013

Today ubu is donating to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance; a worthy charity which is frequently used throughout the areas. We believe it is important to support the Air Ambulance as it is a vital resource during some often traumatic times.

The air ambulance is funded mainly through its charity status and uses volunteers on a daily basis to ensure it is available 365 days a year for all.

Once called it will be usually be at the scene within 19 minutes. The Air Ambulance is called upon on average 21 times a month.

It costs approximately £60,000 per month to keep one aircraft operational and each one is funded entirely by charitable donations. The East Midlands has one aircraft which covers the whole area, which is based at RAF Waddington.

Two customers chose this cause; one because he wants to fly in an helicopter and the other because she sees it so often flying over her home when it is leaving to attend a call out.
