‘Helping Hand’ is a charity based in Blackpool, seeking to help those who are homeless, workless, or in any way socially excluded. Through meeting social, emotional, spiritual, educational and training needs, they enable people to become fully integrated into society.
‘Helping Hand’ have social enterprises that give first step employment and help people move towards independent living.
On the 27th November Tina and Dean went to visit ‘Helping Hand’ to represent ubu in presenting a Christmas donation cheque as a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for the amazing and much needed work they do for people with social problems and other life controlling issues.
We spoke with Trudy, the social enterprises manager, who warmly welcomed us into their offices. Trudy explained the excellent work they do and showed us around the building where we were fortunate to meet some very interesting people who were being supported to get their lives back on track.
Trudy was delighted to receive the cheque from ubu and enthused that this would go towards providing Christmas dinner for the many people who use their services over the festive season.
Tina said that “it was wonderful to be part of the presentation of a donation for such a worthwhile cause.”
