Finding Someone to Love

13th August 2015

Finding someone to love and with whom we can share life’s experiences is something many of us hope for.  ubu believes that everyone has a right to find that happiness in their lives. It can be hard to know where to start, how to meet someone you might enjoy spending time with, a person who shares your interests and accepts and loves you for who you really are.

Ann-Louise, who lives in the North-West shares her story… “Twice a week, I go to an exercise class at my local gym. After a while I began to notice Chris who also goes to the same class. We often sit together and so we have already spent quite a bit of time getting to know each other”.

“I was feeling shy and giddy when I was around him and I wanted to ask him if he would like to go out on a date. I talked about my feelings with my ubu enablers and they helped me to write them down in a letter so that Chris could decide if he wanted to be my boyfriend. I gave my letter to Chris, which he read, saying he was very happy with it and that he would like to be my boyfriend”.

“On our first date we went out to a restaurant for something to eat and then on to bowling afterwards. I really enjoyed myself and I think that Chris did too. Afterwards, Chis gave me his phone number and we are going to meet up again soon”.

“I’m hoping that when I next see Chris for a date we will meet up for a drink together or maybe go to the cinema to watch a movie. I am really looking forward to our next outing together which might even end with a kiss!”

ubu enable the people we serve, who are looking for that ‘right’ someone, to find happiness and enjoy the experience, with gentle guidance and support. Everyone deserves a little love in their lives, a friend or partner to laugh with, smile with and share their dreams and ambitions with… love is in the air this summer, if you want to share your story why not let us know at stories@ubu.me.uk
