Bootcamp Training for Red Nose Day

13th March 2015

HARROGATE Stray is frequented by joggers, residents  and dog walkers but last week to celebrate Red Nose Day, ubu tackled a sponsored bootcamp.

While lots of organisations held cake sales, the people ubu serve and their enablers did star jumps, sit ups, squat thrusts and ran ... all with painted faces in celebration of the Making Funny Faces For Money theme of this year’s event. Their military style workout really did make them sweat, with a punishing programme lasting a full, uninterrupted hour.

„We challenged everyone within ubu to raise money for this worthwhile cause and this team in Harrogate came up with this idea.  All the people we serve wanted to get involved; some indulged their friends‘ sweet tooth with cake sales, others did face painting, but this team really surprised everyone,“ said Dorothy Jarvis-Lee, chief executive.

They raised £100 so far and its still coming in … teams are well on their way to reaching their targets.

Well done, Team Harrogate, and all the ubu teams that have raised funds!
