Hearing the very sad news today made me reflect yet again on how often we forget the many people who do not find Christmas a happy time.
There are many who are lonely; those who live in institutions yet have a lot of people around them, those who live on their own never seeing anyone from one day to the next, people of any age, creed and colour.
There are many who have no home and many who do live in their own home but can’t afford to run it. Those who have lost those that are close to them. Yet collectively they unite with sadness at this time of year.
Please let us not forget those people in your celebrations, please try and include them. Let us show no matter how hard life is today, there are still so many generous people who give warmth, love and affection and friendship to their fellow man.
Our hearts and condolences go out today to the family and friends of Jayden Parkinson who we are sure will be greatly comforted, now she has been found, her soul can now rest in peace.
