In January I wrote about “pooch power” looking at the positive power dogs can bring to the work place. Since December we have been privileged to have two puppies both training to become “PAT” dogs working alongside us at the hub.
Their presence has been hard to miss, as they have always been full of life, greeting everyone who visits with such love and affection. Even the Harrogate postman has nicked named them the “furry staff” of ubu and always carries a treat to salute them.
As brothers, the puppies brought boundless reminders to us every day, mirroring our behaviors of how we coped with and managed the mixture of chaos, routine, innovation, exhaustion, fun, grumpiness, excitement, love and genuine happiness in our work place.
Very sadly the “parvovirus” a severe dog infection, hit both puppies out of the blue, although they were both inoculated against it at a very young age. Very sadly indeed Gus died.
Gus was such a bold, cheery and bubbly character who was so lovable he touched the heart of everyone who met him. He could be found yapping out his message as he bounded around the corridors of the Hub checking everyone knew that no matter how hard they worked there must always be time for a smile.
His short life with us has left such a vibrant, blissful and resounding memory. So a very big thank you Gus for giving us a very important message we will never forget. No matter how tough life gets we will always
