ubu is always looking creatively at recruitment, using new ways to attract people with the right qualities and attitudes that the people we serve deserve. It’s not just about meeting our current employment needs, but meeting future needs in a growing market. With the competitive job market and the demand for social care workers set to soar, it is essential ubu continues to pull in talented candidates from a variety of backgrounds and areas which recently saw us launching a new “Enabling is Extraordinary” advertising campaign across our regions and online.
Giving them a great experience
It’s not enough to attract their attention with a creative advert, though. We need to get them to apply! The application process is one of the first experiences our new candidates will have of working with ubu. No matter how well we have marketed a role, or ourselves as an employer, an overly complicated experience is likely to frustrate and dissuade the high-quality candidates we seek. If we want great people, we need to offer a great candidate experience from day 1! So, after looking in depth at our current systems, we saw areas that could be streamlined and improved.
New systems are coming into place
Under our new integrated system, candidates will have a smoother application experience, and thus a simpler, more comfortable journey. We have two goals: first, to make the whole application and on boarding process smoother and faster, and secondly, to make more creative and more effective recruitment campaigns. Leading to our overriding goal of: ensuring that ubu continues to get the right people on board, and to provide the best support for the people we serve!
